Program Information
TSG Training Team
The Training Team is a two-year commitment, with the goal of attending both:
the 2026 Canadian Gymnaestrada (location TBD), and
the 2027 World Gymnaestrada in Lisbon, Portugal.
Key Details:
Annual Program Fee to Gymnastics Saskatchewan: $250/year non-refundable (covers coaching + facility rentals)
Additional Costs to include, but not limited to: Travel costs to attend provincial training camps throughout the year, Team Sask uniform, team performance outfit, equipment fees, event travel, and accommodations.
Estimated Total Investment: Up to $9,000 over two years, with the majority of the fees in Year 2 (estimate based on previous cycles)
Commitment:
Participants are expected to attend regular team training camps throughout the province and maintain independent practice outside of these formal camps.
Although part of the Gymnastics for All umbrella, this stream requires consistent physical preparation and skill development within the scope of each participant's skill set.
Training and choreography will be tailored to participants’ individual abilities and movement specialties.
All gymnastics disciplines and other movement disciplines are welcome (for example, cheer, dance, aerial silk, pole sport, etc). All participants will come together to create one choreography routine based on the coach's vision. Skills and choreography will be tailored to individual skill and specialty.
Eligibility:
Recommended Minimum Age: 12 years by Dec 31, 2025 (exceptions may be made for younger athletes demonstrating maturity and skill)
No Maximum Age
Program Flow:
Year 1 (2025–2026): Regular, full team training camps (Sept–June) to learn and rehearse team choreography, culminating in participation at the 2026 Canadian Gymnaestrada.
Outside of team training camps, additional home/club based training will be required.
At Canadian Gymnaestrada: Team Saskatchewan will audition to represent Canada at World Gymnaestrada. Levels of participation will be determined post-event by Gymnastics Canada (e.g., we could be assigned a full 15-minute time slot, we could be asked to share with another province, we could be selected to represent Canada in a national evening)
Year 2 (2026–2027): Continued training for selected participants to prepare for the World Gymnaestrada.
Participants must arrange their own travel to each Gymnaestrada, but once on site, minors will be chaperoned, and the team will stay together.
