2026 Canadian Gymnaestrada
OTTAWA, ON (July 25, 2025) – Gymnastics Canada, in partnership with Gymnastics Saskatchewan and Regina Hotel Association, is thrilled to announce that the 2026 Canadian Gymnaestrada will take place in Regina, Saskatchewan from June 30 to July 4, 2026.
This will mark the first time Saskatchewan hosts a Canadian Gymnaestrada, and the sixth edition of the event since the first GymCan run Canadian Gymnaestrada in 2006. Over 1,000 participants from across the country are expected to take part in this vibrant, non-competitive celebration of movement, creativity, and community spirit.
“The Canadian Gymnaestrada exemplifies our commitment to inclusive, lifelong participation in gymnastics, showcasing the diversity and creativity that define our sport,” said Denise Alivantov, Manager of Coach & Sport Development at Gymnastics Canada. “We are proud to announce Regina as the host city for 2026. Saskatchewan has a strong history of supporting gymnastics for all—both nationally and on the international stage—making it a fitting location for this celebration of movement and community.”
The 2026 Canadian Gymnaestrada will be held at three of Regina’s most iconic venues: the Brandt Centre, Mosaic Stadium, and Wascana Park. The Brandt Centre—a premier arena with seating for up to 6,000—offers professional staging and advanced audiovisual capabilities for dynamic indoor showcases. Mosaic Stadium, one of the city’s most recognizable landmarks, will provide an impressive open-air venue for the opening ceremony. Wascana Park, one of Canada’s largest urban parks, will serve as a stunning outdoor venue for public performances and community engagement.
As part of the city’s broader Canada Day celebrations, the Regina Canada Day Committee has expressed its support for including Gymnaestrada participants in the Canada Day festivities at Wascana Park, offering a unique opportunity to share performances with the wider community in a festive, outdoor setting.
“The Gymnastics Saskatchewan board of directors, staff, and the Saskatchewan gymnastics community are extremely excited to be hosting the 2026 Canadian Gymnaestrada right here in Regina,” said Terrol Russell, CEO of Gymnastics Saskatchewan.
“Our staff have been involved in Gymnaestrada across the country since our very first showcase event in 1998 in Ottawa. It’s an honour to now welcome the Canadian Gymnastics for All community to our home province,” added Dalena Juárez, Director of Operations at Gymnastics Saskatchewan.
The Regina Hotel Association, a key partner in hosting the event, is committed to providing participants and visitors with a top-tier experience.
“We are thrilled that Regina has been selected to host the 2026 Canadian Gymnaestrada,” said Sandra Jackle, President & CEO of the Regina Hotel Association. “This event brings together over 1,000 participants of all ages and abilities from across the country to share in the joy of gymnastics. We look forward to welcoming everyone for this dynamic four-day event and providing an exceptional hospitality experience that showcases everything Regina has to offer.”
“We are so excited to welcome the 2026 Canadian Gymnaestrada – a vibrant gymnastics festival – here in Regina,” said Mayor Chad Bachynski. “We look forward to opening our arms to participants and spectators from coast to coast, and to demonstrating Regina’s warmth and world-class facilities. To all participants, families and fans from across Canada: welcome to a city that’s ready to celebrate your passion and showcase your talent!”
Gymnaestrada is a non-competitive, inclusive celebration of gymnastics featuring group performances that reflect the diversity and creativity of the sport. Open to participants of all ages and skill levels, the event promotes lifelong participation, health, and community through movement.
In addition to showcasing Canada’s Gymnastics for All community, the 2026 Gymnaestrada will also provide an important opportunity for groups preparing for the 2027 World Gymnaestrada in Lisbon, Portugal from July 11-17, 2027.
