 Gymnastics Saskatchewan has instituted five levels of WAG Competition encompassing several different age groups to provide enjoyable competition opportunities for girls and women of various levels of ability and commitment.PROVINCIAL 1 Designed for beginner competitive and developing athletes who have limited training and experience. Routines are compulsory skills with optional choreography. PROVINCIAL 2 Designed for beginner competitive and developing athletes who have limited training and experience. Routines contain only A skill requirements. PROVINCIAL 3 Designed for athletes who have mastered Provincial 2 and are now ready to learn B skills. Fully choreographed routines are performed with A and B skills. PROVINICIAL 4 Designed for athletes who are prepared to incorporate more B skills into their routines. Fully choreographed routines are performed with A and B skills. PROVINCIAL 5 Designed for athletes who have mastered Provincial 4 and are ready for increased difficulty and the development of C skills. Provincial 5 may also be a stepping-stone for those interested in competing in full FIG difficulty competitions. Athletes may try out for Western Canadian Championships. PRE-NOVICE The Pre-Novice Program has been created to assist in the development of young athletes across Canada as they set their sights on participating in future high-level competition. The program is divided in two levels and dedicated to mastering strong basic skills on all four events upon which to build contemporary advanced elements in the years to come. NATIONAL & HIGH PERFORMANCE The National and High Performance athletes aspire to compete at inter-provincial and national levels or are already national high performance gymnasts. Athletes compete national and international rules, based on the FIG Code of Points. Provincial, inter-provincial, and national competition is provided in two age groups for national stream, and three for high performance for national stream and three for high performance. |
